Escorted tours specialist Newmarket Holidays has launched a new eight-day tour of Madrid, Toledo and Salamanca in the heart of Spain.

The itinerary explores historic cities and UNESCO World Heritage Sites that showcase the region’s rich history, culture and landscapes.

Highlights include guided city tours of Madrid, ancient Toledo – known as the city of three cultures, and historic Salamanca, famed for its golden sandstone architecture. There are also visits to the lesser-known cities of Segovia and Avila, both with a rich Roman influence, plus entry to the incredible El Escorial Monastery, a symbol of the Spanish Golden Age and former home to the medieval kings of Spain.

Unlike competitor itineraries, the Newmarket Holidays tour includes a stop in the city of Alcalá de Henares, with guests enjoying an overnight stay in a 17th-century parador for a more leisurely conclusion to the holiday and breaking up the return transfer to Madrid airport.

Hayley Morris, Head of Trade Sales and Partnerships says: “Given the success of our existing Spain and Portugal tours, it was an obvious next step to develop an exciting itinerary that takes us to central Spain for the first time.

“This excellent tour offers a well-balanced mix of guided sightseeing and free time that gives travel agents a fantastic opportunity to sell a well-rounded, culturally rich tour with broad appeal.”

Madrid, Toledo & Salamanca has three departures from September to October 2025, departing Edinburgh, Gatwick, Stanstead, and Manchester. Prices start from £1,530 per person (saving £269 until 13 March) and include hotels, seven breakfasts, one dinner, tours and transfers.
